The Hospitality & Visitor Recognition Ministry

As worshippers enter the narthex, members of the Hospitality Ministry extend the hand of welcome, issue bulletins outlining the worship service and encourage visitors to register. At a specified place in the worship service, a Hospitality Ministry member or the Pastor facilitates a formal greeting by recognizing all visitors.

The Ministry of Stewardesses
Sis. Barbara Ellison

Recommended by the Pastor, this select group of women become members of the Stewardess Ministry after the Bishop has consecrated them. They are consecrated to serve by preparing the elements of Holy Communion, Baptism and the reception of new members into the church.

The Ushers Ministry
Sis. Cathy Lee
The Ushers Ministry services the needs of the congregation at worship services, receptions, funerals and other church events. The primary duties of the ushers, known as the “doorkeepers,” is to greet worshippers and direct their entry into the sanctuary before and during service, identify available seating, assist in the distribution of service related materials, and lift the offerings.
Units include Daughters on the Frontline, Alfred T. Elder Men Ushers and GSP Teen Ushers.

The Media Ministry 
Sis.Lillie McBride
The Media Ministry skillfully monitors and regulates the sound and lighting systems within the sanctuary and provides video images for the sanctuary projection screen. This ministry is also responsible for the recording, duplicating and tape sales for Sunday worship services and other designated special events.
